Finals Qualifications

Minimum of 3 FCA Lead Rodeos are needed to qualify for Finals you also need to have won money

We will take the following to the finals with a minimum of 3 Lead Rodeos and Money won

Open Events - Top 10

Junior Barrels/Junior Steers/Novice Horse/Junior Bulls/LBAW/JBAW/PW - Top 6 

Finals will be at the Brawn Arena at Olds College

Contestants must wear their back numbers at all times.

​

WAIVERS - Every contestant and volunteer must sign a waiver, this will be available to sign when you check in.   Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver.

FEES

Entry Fees for the Open Events $300

Entry Fees for the Junior & Optional Events $200

Personal Sponsor per person per event $200 (this was communicated in the membership letter that we would be implementing the personal sponsor)  All this money goes towards payout.

​PASSES & TICKETS

Each contestant will get 1 companion wristband for the weekend.  All other tickets will need to be purchased ticket link - Click Here to purchase additional tickets  We only have 200 tickets available for sale, there is no guarantee there will be tickets available at the door.

Schedule Friday

We do not have access to the arena or facility until after 1:00 pm.  The college has asked us not to show up earlier than that as the Rodeo Team is loading up to head to their rodeo.

 

Rodeo Office opens at 3:00 to pay fees & pick up vests

 

Riding in the arena

Barrel Racers you can practice from 2:00 - 3:00 as per the rule book Once barrel markers have been placed, no practicing is allowed on the course marked. For the purposes of practicing, barrels must be placed at least ten (10) feet (3m) away from the markers.

Everyone can ride in the arena between 3:00 & 4:00 pm, they will be running stock at 4 and you need to be out of the arena

• Timed Event Contestants - we will be running stock at 4 pm 

• Rodeo starts at 6:00

• Horse of the Year Presentations Following Rodeo

• Calcutta & Social following Rodeo - All Open Members must attend (Juniors are not required to attend)

• Rodeo Office opens at 10:30 to pay fees & pick up vests for roughstock contestants

• Open Riding from 10:00 - 11:00;  No barrel practice

• Group Photos 11:00 - mandatory to attend there is a $100 fine for anyone who doesn't show up and must be paid before you compete Saturday afternoon.  Order of Photos:  LBR; JBR; PWB; LBAW; JBAW; TD; TR; SW; NHR; JSR; Jr. Bulls; SB; BR; Group Photo of All Contestants  Roughstock contestants you can wear your chaps for the photos; Timed Event contestants you can bring your ropes if you want.

SEATING - there are seats on the main floor of the arena, there is also a viewing area upstairs that will have a CASH bar.

VENDORS - we will have a couple Tradeshow vendors upstairs in the viewing area, please check them out.

Food & Beverages - the college will have the following for sale at the arena they will take Cash/Debit/Credit

Pulled Pork on a bun with potato wedges $9.00

Pizza Cheese or Pepperoni $4.00 per slice

Hot Dog $4.00

Chocolate Chip Cookie 2oz $2.00   

Bag of Chip $2.50

Chocolate Bar $3.00

Maynards Candy $3.00

PARKING - Click Here for Map

The arena is number 28 on the map at the south end of the college.  You can come in the entrance F.  There is some parking around the arena marked on the map where it says trailers please be mindful not to block the road or any entrances.  There is no parking on the roadway.

DO NOT Park directly behind the arena on Saturday, please leave room for the Cattle Liner with stock.

There is overnight parking & self penning at the HEO site at the bottom of the map.

There is no emptying of your trailers, please clean up after yourself before you leave and take all garbage with you. 

Do not ride or park on the soccer or football field.

STALLS - There are 3 stalls still available there are on a first come basis.  They are $50 per stall.  Shavings are provided they are located outside the arena.  If you are renting a stall you need to ensure the stall is completely cleaned and swept out afterwards.  There is a $100 charge for a dirty stall which you are responsible for paying.

Finals Vests

$200 per Vest, must be paid at time of ordering, no payment no Vest!  

Vests will be available for sizing at Didsbury & Cochrane by the Rodeo Office 

Deadline to order and pay for your vest is 4 pm on Tuesday September 8th no exception.  We are on a tight timeline to get the vests by Finals
